The Department of Migrant Workers, owned by the Philippine government, wants to expand its reach to cater to the needs of all Filipino migrant workers or Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW). In line with this, the DMW created a mobile app where OFWs can access various services through their phones.
This is done to make the lives of OFWs a little better so there won’t be any long queues and accessible anytime and anywhere. This app allows OFWs to get Overseas Employment Certificates (OEC) online and other services.

You can download the DMW Mobile App on Google Play (Android) or Apple Store (iOS).
- Go to Google Play (Android) or Apple Store (iOS) on your mobile and type “DMW Mobile App”.
- Click the official DMW Mobile App and make sure it’s the right app, then click “Install”.
- Wait for the app to download. You will receive a notification on your mobile once it’s completed.
- Open the newly download app and click “Signe Up Here”.
DMW Mobile App Registration
DMW Mobile App allows OFWs to create their own account to set up their digital identity and use various services offered by the Department of Migrant Workers. This is one of the main features of the app that can give convenience to OFWs when managing their information and utilizing the services in the app. Here are the steps on how to create your own account.
- Download the DMW Mobile App. Read the instructions given above.
- Create a New Account. Click the “Create New Account”. It will automatically direct you to its registration page.
- Read and click the “I accept the Terms of Use”.
- Provide required information. When registering, the app will require you to provide personal information such as email address, mobile number, and identification number. Make sure to provide information as it appears on your passport.
- Click “Register”.
- Get an e-Resistration Number via email. After submitting all the required information, you will receive an email with your e-Registration Number and a temporary password.
Once you received the email, you are already registered and can now start using the app. Return to DMW Mobile App and log in to your account using the credentials you have given during the registration.
Overseas Employment Certificates (OEC) Application from DMW Mobile App
In the past, applying for OEC is a tedious task. But thanks to DMW mobile app, you can easily apply whenever and wherever you are which allows you to spend your time doing other jobs. It is quick, efficient, and hassle-free for our OFWs. Here is the step on how to apply for OEC using the mobile app.
- Log in to DMW Mobile App and select “OEC Application. The “OEC Application is usually found in the main menu or homepage of the app.
- Fill out the details for contract processing. You have to fill out all the information accurately and make sure that all fields are completed.
- Submit your application. Make sure to double-check all the information before clicking the “Submit Application”.
- Contract Verification. This step usually takes some time to complete because they need to verify all the information you gave.
- QR status. Once your contract has been verified, your QR (Quick Response) code will change from RED to Green. This QR code means the OEC has been approved and can use it as proof of your OEC application status.
The immigration officers accept green QR codes from OFWs. All OFWs returning abroad to the same employer can secure their OEC online and don’t need to bring printed OEC.
OFW Pass for Overseas Filipino Workers
The OFW Pass is a new system put in place by the DMW in order to remove the OEC altogether. This OFW pass serves as the identity of the OFWs which they can present to Philippine government officials to prove that they are legitimately working abroad.
There will be no longer queues at the Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs) because the OFW Pass can be processed online using a smartphone. So there is no more need for appointments and you can get a QR Code directly with your mobile phone.
